I want to upgrade the processor of my HP Pavilion Desktop 590, currently using the I3 8th gen and want to upgrade to I5 12th or 13th gen. My motherboard is compatible with I5 processor?

You can find the list of supported processors under the processor upgrade information section.

 

There is no way you can upgrade beyond an Intel 9th generation core processor.
