Can I upgrade the motherboard

2 REPLIES 2

@Slowpain13,

Explain that question?  Upgrade the components  ON  the motherboard ?

The existing 400W PSU would allow a nice GTX 1080 based on comparison values.  The GTX 1080 pulls 5 W  less than your existing RX580, but exceeds your card.

If you asking about a new motherboard, it is NOT a project frankenstein.  The PSU is not a standard ATX.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

The motherboard is no standard size board and may not fit in standard cases and the same with the power supply so a motherboard upgrade would require a case and power supply upgrade too. The CPU cooler might be not standard too but could vary model to model so yours could be standard. So a motherboard upgrade would take a new case, power supply, and CPU cooler.
