Can I use a solid state drive?

Machine has become unacceptably slow.  Without knowing machine specifics,  just know it's several years old, techs have recommended upgrading to a Solid State drive.  Given these specs, (a) is that possible, and (b) if so, how large3 can I go?

@beancounter95 , welcome to the Community.

The information on the hard drive in your computer is limited.  There doesn't appear to be a SSD socket.  Therefore, you will have to replace the Hard Drive Disk (HDD) with a standard SSD.  I suggest that you open the case to see what type of connectors there are for the hard drive.  Here is a SSD that should be compatible: https://www.newegg.com/samsung-1tb-870-evo-series/p/N82E16820147793?item=N82E16820147793&source=regi...

You can look at the pictures that are provided in the ad.  The second shows the connectors.  This will give you an idea if the connectors in your computer are compatible.
