Glad you dropped by to ask.    There are 2 major upgrades you can perform.

I like Samung EVO 860 for this project, 1TB 2.5" SSD drive. Free cloning software,  DATA migration.

You will need the following:

1) HP 510-030p Upgrade and Service guide.  Looks like the drive tray has holes for 2.5 and 3.5 drives. Page 2.

2) SATA power splitter power cable.  You will be using (temporarily) the DVD data port. The splitter is used for power (off the original HD), as the DVD is a slimline, and has 6 pin power connector.

Next comes the RAM issue.  HP installed a 8GB and 4GB modules. That slows down the unit.  It uses 4 of the 8GB, and all of the 4GB in dual channel mode.  The last 4GB of the 8GB reverts to single channel mode (slower).  You need 2x8GB.  HP has tested a maximum of 16 GB on this system and does not recommend maximum memory beyond the 16 GB amount.   new pair.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..
