Hello, I'd like to know if Samsung 970 EVO 500GB V-NAND M.2 SSD NVMe 1.3 Pheonix MZ-V7E500BW will work with my computer, and will it take full advantage of the speed of what the 970 is capable? Also if yes Will I need to update the motherboard BIOS?

this is a current system, with mid to upper range specs, the motherboard has two M.2 slots one for wireless cards only

and one for a SSD HD in the 2280 form factor using the "M" keying which is a PCI-e 4x  interface and since this is a current system with a UEFI bios, it will also support the NVME format

so yes you can run the Evo 970 nvme SSD in your motherboard M.2 slot

HP does list the changes/updates done in each bios update, simply click on the "details" tab when at the bios download page for your model.

in general it's recomended to install the latest bios
