Product: HP Z640 Workstation

Hi , I have an HP z640 Workstation that has a CPU Intel Xeon CPU E5 - 1620 v3 @3.50GHz , 28GB RAM, System Board 212A.01 and graphics card AMD FirePro w2100. I want to upgrade the graphics card to an 8GB model, what are the limitations ? would nvidia 3070 be compatible ?  I use this PC as a golf simulator and the current graphics card just doesn't cut it.

@Peter4431 , welcome to the Community.

 

Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the workstation.  Look at Chapter 1, Hardware overview, Page 14, in the section titled "Graphics cards", for all of the specifications on cards that are compatible with the motherboard.  I suggest that you use this information and contact the manufacturer's Tech Support to assure their cards are compatible.  They are the experts on their products.
