HP ENVY All-in-One 27-b2XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Motherboard in this devise seems to be called Confit.

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-envy-27-b200-all-in-one-desktop-pc-series/19390539/model/217...

Intel Rapid Storage SW lists a second mass storage port (gate 5).

Is it really available? Can I add a second SATA drive in it?

You can add a second HDD or SSD on SATA port if you want...

I took at look at your specs and i saw that you have One M.2 socket 3, 2280 type for SSD.....that means you can install a NVME SSD and that would be my suggestion...

as an example...I am having Samsung Evo 970 Plus on the M2 slot and works above my expectations!

Good luck

This device has one NVMe drive and one SATA drive as the original configuration.

I wonder if I can add a second SATA drive because Intel software does show a free second SATA port.

Do you know if there is a free second SATA port?

Ok I understand...so you have the NVME drive installed....good then...go ahead and install the 2nd Hard Drive! as you have another SATA port free there..open the back cover and see for yourself

Good luck!

Not quite.

This device has one NVMe drive and one 2TB conventional SATA drive. No DVD.

But the Intel Storage Management software reports third unoccupied port. I'm just not sure if there really is a third port with connector and everything needed available or does the Intel SW just report a dummy port.

I have not seen the motherboard to check myself. I wonder if anyone else has better information about it.
