I can't connect two PCs to one HP 27f monitor using HDMI.

You need an HDMI switch and I assume you are using one.

 

Even with an HDMI switch, it is possible that if the PC powers up and it is not the one connected to the monitor, the PC will switch to a different connecter such as VGA or DVI.  Check the reviews of the HDMI switch.  The switch needs to maintain power to both PCs so that the PC does not try switching to a VGA or DVI connector.  Use a powered HDMI switch.

 

I recommend you use remote desktop.  It is free with windows pro.  If running anything other than pro then use the personal version of splashtop.

 

Use SplashTop to access windows, MacOS or Linux from:
your PC, MacOS, smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android)
