Hi there, the power supply went out I’m assuming as the tower won’t turn on after it randomly turned off.
What power supply is compatible with this model?
also, can I upgrade it to be able to run games better? If so, I’d love suggestions for any and all upgrades possible with this model. Thank you!

Hi @RetroHound
Welcome to the HP Forum.
The 500 watt power supply installed in your PC may have failed. But other components could cause this symptom (graphics card, RAM, CPU, or MB). A faulty power button can cause this symptom.
Your PC uses a standard 24 pin ATX power supply, 150 mm width, 86 mm height, and typically 140 mm depth. Or 5.9 inches, 3.9 inches, 5.5 inches respectively. Measure this part to verify.
You could buy a new PSU only to find a different component has failed.
I would have a local PC Tech take a look. The Tech has replacement components to test your system. The Tech can also test your components on a different, compatible test bench MB.
The cost to fix your PC may exceed the benefits. This would preclude doing any upgrades to your PC.
