Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

I needed to connect two HP Workstations that are fitted with DisplayPort graphic cards to the Monitor that is fitted with a DisplayPort connection.

What is have is a 8K DP 1.4 Bi Directional Switch.

I connected the Display Port cable to the primary HP computer I work with to the switch. The monitor populated with HP's desktop screen. That was using switch select DP 1.

I than connected the secondary HP Workstation to the Switch. that was DP2. The monitor populated with HP's desktop screen. That was using switch select DP2.

Then I switch over to DP 1. There was no desktop showing. The info on the monitor indicated 'no connection.'

I then switch cables, restarted the computers and so forth. I was unable to achieve the intent of having two computers via the DisplayPort switch utilizing one monitor.

Along with those struggles I even swapped out the 8K DP 1.4 Bi Directional Switch with another 8K DP 1.4 Bi Directional Switch as I had two of them.

I then had to re cable the primary HP computer directly to the monitor to continue to work.

Is the a solution to correct this issue?

Thanks !!
