Pavilion 550-153w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently upgraded my PC to 12gb of ddr3 ram. However now when i run certain programs like Adobe Premier or Fallout 4 my PC will turn of without warning. My buddy said i may need to upgrade my power supply however i do not know what kind of power supplies are compatible with this computer. I did also install a Geforce Gt 730 4gb ddr3 graphics card in my computer.

Do I need to upgrade my Power supply or could their be something else wrong with my PC? This problem only started after i upgraded my pc to 12 gb of ram.

@JeffreyD1995 , welcome to the forum.

I don't believe that adding the memory would have made a difference in the power requirements.  However, the video card requires a minimum of 300W.  The two of them together are definitely a problem.

You should be able to use any standard ATX power supply unit (PSU) with a 24 pin ATX power connector.  The best thing to do is, measure the space where the PSU will be installed and compare them to the one that you choose.  I like Corsair products.  Here is a PSU that should work.  I normally recommend at least 100W to 150W more than the minimum requirement for the video card.

If you have further questions about the PSU, I suggest that you contact Corsair's Tech Support.  They are the experts on their products.
