HI,

HP has only validated the following processors for your motherboard.

  • Socket type: LGA1150
  • Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:
    Processor
    TDP
Intel Core i5 4430 (Haswell) 3.0 GHz Dual Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i5 4440 (Haswell) 3.1 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i5 4570 (Haswell) 3.2 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i5 4590 (Haswell) 3.3 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i5 4670 (Haswell) 3.4 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i5 4670K (Haswell) 3.4 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i7 4770 (Haswell) 3.4 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i7 4770K (Haswell) 3.5 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W
Intel Core i7 4790 (Haswell) 3.6 GHz Quad Core
    up to 84 W

I don't see additional CPU support listed as a fix using BIOS version A0.13 (Link).

Regards

Oh, I forgot! - BIOS version A0.13 (date 09-29-2016)... and -  Intel has included their support in the motherboards of the H97 and Z97 series chipsets (like mine) ...because of this my question arose ...

Thanks! But I knew about it! I assumed that someone might have had a positive hands-on experience with installing Broadwell on this motherboard. I believe that Hewlett Packard does not check anything, but simply writes data for the motherboard BIOS, because of this, the processors that should work in this board will not work. Thanks for the info anyway! Best regards, Rishat.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

The CPUs you are looking at are LGA 1150. They will fit in the CPU socket on your motherboard.

HP would have to update the BIOS to see these CPUs.

You could try either chip if you can return to the seller for a refund. I did see a forum member plop a compatible Xeon chip in a HP consumer motherboard with success. No guarantee it will work for you.

I don't think the system will POST with either processor without a BIOS update from HP.

Yes, that's understandable! Thanks again!
