Hi,
First of all, I am not tech savvy, so please try to explain things to me like I am a 5yr old.
My Desktop was upgraded with windows 11 home and a 2tb m2 ssd drive and according to specs this desktop supports dual drive configuration.
I would like to add an additional sata ssd drive. I have not purchased a sata drive yet because I have read somewhere that adding another drive might disable one of the drives. I would like to keep the m2 ssd drive as my boot drive and the sata ssd drive as a backup.
My question is:
What do I need to do, if anything, before I install the sata ssd drive so that both drives are accessible in the OS.
Again, Please try to explain step by step instructions like I am a 5yr old. I will try to print out your instructions so that I have a hardcopy while I am trying to accomplish having both drives available to use in my desktop.
Thanks, Jeff

Hi,
I do not know how to edit my post after I already posted it, so I did this instead. I wanted to add some more information before anyone responded.
I am considering adding a 4tb or more sata ssd drive to my desktop and from what I have been reading, I might have to change things.
Thanks Again, Jeff
