SSD HP EX950 NVME
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

BOM DIA PESSOAL. SOU DO BRASIL E COMPREI UM SSD HP EX950 NVME. O PRODUTO PROMETE VELOCIDADE DE LEITURA DE 3500 MB/S E GRAVAÇÃO DE 2250 MB/S. PORÉM, QUANDO INSTALEI ESSAS VELOCIDADES CAIRAM PARA A METADA. GOSTARIA DE SABER SE TENHO QUE INSTALAR UM DRIVER ESPECÍFICO PARA ESTE SSD E ONDE CONSIGO, POIS A HP DO BRASIL INFORMA QUE NÃO TEM SUPORTE PARA ESSE PRODUTO. MEU NOTEBOOH É UM DELL  INTEL I7 DE 8ª GERAÇÃO. AGRADEÇO O RETORNO DE VOCES.

Hi:

The only information on the drive you bought can be found at the link below.

https://support.hp.com/br-pt/product/hp-ex950-m.2-solid-state-drives/32206825/manuals

HP only puts their brand on the drive.  Most likely it is made by someone else (Samsung, Intel, Sandisk, etc).

What is the hardware ID for the drive?

If you post that, maybe I can figure out who made it and we can find the drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Also post the hardware ID for the NVMe drive storage controller, which you can find under the Storage Controllers device manager category.

Use this guide to find the hardware ID for a device.

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

For example, I have a HP notebook that came with a NVMe drive, and W10 installed a standard NVMe controller driver.

I looked up the manufacturer of the drive (which was Samsung) and they had a driver for it, so now my notebook is using that driver instead of the generic Microsoft one.

I did not test it to see if it ran better.  It was already plenty fast enough for me, having only used SATA drives in the past.

You're very welcome.

From what I can find, the drive is actually made by Silicon Motion...a SM2262EN chip.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any driver support from them either.

What is the description of the NVMe storage controller in the device manager under the storage controllers device manager category?

Please post the hardware ID for it if it is just a generic Microsoft NVMe Controller.

Use the guide I posted earlier for how to find the hardware ID for a device, or I have tried to translate the instructions to do that in Portuguese....

Publique o ID do hardware.

Deve começar com PCI \ VEN _...

Hi:

Unfortunately, that ID does not tell us anything different.

It still indicates HP EX950, so I would have to say that there aren't any special drivers needed for it.
