In an effort to upgrade my EliteDesk 705, I have added 16GB of memory, making 24GB total, and now looking to upgrade my GPU.
I upgraded my Power supply, to a semi-modular 650 watt unit, from the stock 280-watt, and purchased a Raedon R9 270x 2gb video card.
One little issue, the GPU is kinda big. When installed, it hits the motherboard plug for the USB 3.0 front plug-in.
It will install fine if I remove the USB plug on the motherboard.
The computer seems to work fine without the USB plug installed and personally there are 2 more 3.0 plugs on the back with some additional 2.0's, so, I do not need the front 3.0 USB's.
When I start the computer, I get a 'warning' beep and a message "41A - Front USB 2 not connected". After the message displays , I simply hit enter and the computer goes on to run normally.
1. Is it OK to run the computer like this, with the front USB 3.0's unplugged?
2. If OK, is there a way to stop the "41A - unplugged" notice?
Thank You in Advance,
