Hard disk - C volume is nearly full.  C volume is listed on Drive 0,  while D volume is on Drive 1.  Hence shrinking D volume and expanding C volume does not appear to be an option.  To upgrade the C drive to something much larger than 256 gig, would it be possible to purchase a new hard drive and then mirror the contents of the present drive onto the new larger one?  I use my computer for electronic computer aided design (ECAD), and do not want to reload them.  The licences files are painful to deal with and install.  Thank you for your support.

In your situation, I would use the free "Macrium Reflect" software to "clone" the "Drive 0" onto a brand-new disk-drive.

It will automatically "resize" the "C:" drive to use all the space on the new disk-drive.

Disconnect the old disk-drive.

Connect the new disk-drive.

Boot from the new disk-drive.

Sometimes, this "first boot" from the new didsk-drive will fail. Just reboot.
