Is there space in the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 790-0825no for en extra hard disk and any recommendation on hardware?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

 

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have  512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD drive installed on the PC.

To get the answer to this question, Yes you can add an additional storage drive. See the below table on available PCI slots:
