HP 800 Wireless Keyboard 4CE99AA#ABL
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I own a HP Pavilion Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 800 (Black)

CHF 80.-- Part Number: 4CE99AA#ABL. It arrived with the Fn keys set to the alt/special/multi media functions, not the standard F1 - F12 uses. How can I set the standard F1 - F12 as default? Seeing revicews, others have had the same problem, but it doesn't seem likely the keybaord can't be set to function like a standard keyboard.

Hi! @G_C_B, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you would like to know how to use only the function keys instead of the multimedia keys.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

You can use the function keys on the keyboard without holding any keys on the keyboard.

However, if you like to use the multimedia keys on the keyboard. You have to Press the Fn key + the multimedia key.

Eg: Fn Key + F3 key to increase the volume.

Also, if you feel your query has not answered you can try the steps recommended below.

Click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Once the Control Panel loads select "Devices," and then "Keyboard."

Select your multimedia keyboard as the default keyboard from the list at the top of the screen. Check to "enable" multimedia keyboard buttons. You may be asked what functions specific buttons should have. Here you can either leave them with the default settings or select a different task for the buttons in question.

Click "Apply" to save the changes. You can now begin using the multimedia keys on your keyboard.

Go to BIOS on your on your PC and enable the action keys.

1.    Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2.    Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3.    Go to the system configuration tab.

4.    Select Action keys from the list and select Enable.

5.    Press F9 on the keyboard to save changes and exit.

Also, Please try the steps recommended below.
