After running diagnostics I found that my laptop had a failed hard drive with a failure ID of:
QC3SX1-A1KC56-XD7U21-60RF03
I looked up how to back up my personal files onto a flash drive but the after selecting Troubleshoot the only options that come up for me are “Reset this PC” or “Advanced Options,” neither of which are the option I was directed to choose.

Can you boot into window safe mode?
First read this article about safe mode.
Skip down to 'Enter safe mode from outside windows'. If f11 does not get you into system recovery then try turning the power on and off three or more times in a row.
in safe mode you can save your files and possibly might be able to do a scan repair of the drive
If you cannot get into safe mode then replace the drive and do a factory install of the OS
If under warranty then request the the old drive be return to you so you can recover your files.
