Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The fan makes constant noise.  when I open another program the sound increases.  took the machine back to where I purchased it and they could find nothing wrong.  Suggested my outlet might be damaged.

electrician  checked all my circuits and outlets and found nothing wrong.   -  Moved the computer to the kitchen where it made minimal fan noise.   Moved it back to the office and fan noise reappeared so that lets out electrical problem

Does anyone else have this issue or is my house just partially haunted?

@Deirdre44 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting fan noise.

I have a few recommendations:

  • Updating your Notebook computer BIOS

  • Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean

  • Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat

  • Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes

  • Selecting power saves settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use
