Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp z230 Tower Workstation. About 10 years old.

SN                       [personal info removed]

Product             WM649ET#UUW

My Samsung EVO 750 1 TB cannot be recognized, and I want to buy a new SSD.
I suspect the old one to be not completely compatible (some irregular very long waiting times for simple disk operations)
so this time I want to be sure to have the right disk.
Can you help me find the best fit? I would prefer 2 TB if possible.
Thank you!

@KnudFjeldsted,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

If I had an HP Z230 Tower Workstation, I probably would consider the 2TB Intel SSD DC P3600 Series (SSDPEDME020T4P / SSDPEDKE020T7C), and mount it on one of the two available PCIe x4 slots as shown below.  This suggestion is based on HP Z230 Tower Workstation User entries such as this one: HP Z230 Tower Workstation Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Hope this was helpful.

Thanxalot for the suggestion.
This SSD no doubt is very powerful. The only problem is that it costs about USD 3400, and I think I could get a quite reasonable new workstation for that kind of money.

Here is a benchmark of my present setup:

I have replaced my corrupt SSD temporarily with a mechanical HDD.

Please don't hessitate to bring new suggestions.
Thank you.

@Knud_Fjeldsted,

Please take a look at this YouTube HP Z230 Tower upgrade video and see if it provides ideas for your upgrade efforts: HP Z230 Gaming Computer (GTX 1080 Ti and NVMe.2 install) - YouTube.

Also -and something that has helped me out more than once, look at HP Z230 Tower Workstation UserBenchMark system drive configs, and see if any meet your budget considerations: UserBenchmark: HP Z230 Tower Workstation Compatible Components.

Kind Regards,
