HPZ620

Hello, My product is HPZ620 workstation. I want to expand this product with Samsung 960 Evo 250GB M.2 SSD. I know this product doesn't have any M.2 ports but I saw another possibility to expand it. For example I was able to connect this SSD with a converter via PCI to my another computer without M.2 port (Normal desktop) and it worked successfully. However, I was not successful with this device. Could you describe to me this connection process which is a way to speed up this computer even more? Maybe my PCI M.2 converter is not suitable for this operation. Can you recommend me a converter compatible with this workstation? Thank you in advance for your reply.

It did not work because your HP Z620 workstation is compatible with SATA M/2 products, not  NVMe SSDs.

PCIe to NVMe adapters are not compatible with your HP workstation.

Specifications for your workstation

You will need a SATA M.2 SSD and a PCIe  to SATA3 M.2 adapter

A simpler upgrade would be with a SATA3 2.5" SSD. All you would need is an available SATA3 port.

SATA3  M.2 SSD

Now I understand that I forced my Hpz620 workstation to run M.2 by thinking it like a normal computer. But you're right when you say it. Thanks for your recommendation.
