Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone, I have a problem...I bought this computer a few years ago...HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower PC

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03808397#AbT3

I like it and it has a i7...I just purchase4x8BG memory chips and will put them in tonight!

I bought a card about a year ago and could NOT get it to fit!! I am sure it was supposed to fit but after 30 minutes of gently trying to get it in....no dice! Here is the card I bought and returned...

MSI Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 128-Bit HDMI/DP 4GB GDRR5 HDCP Support DirectX 12 Dual Fan VR Ready OC Graphics Card (GTX 1650 Gaming X 4G)

Please, can someone tell me what I can do or what card I can buy,,,,I'd like to get the most up to date card I can within reasonable price ($200)

@Dancoy20001 , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Illustrated Parts and Service Guide for the computer: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03812594

If you look at the section titled "Other boards" there is a list of compatible video cards.  Most of them are much less beefy than the GTX 1650 and much shorter.  The 1650 is 9.64" in length.  Here is a HP Knowledge Base article to help you determine if the card will fit: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Knowledge-Base/Upgrade-Video-Card/ta-p/7481981

You want to read the 3rd paragraph regarding measuring the space for the card.  Also, there is a clip at the end of the video slot on the motherboard.  This has to be opened before the card will go into the slot. It will click back when the card is installed properly to hold it in place.  There are numerous videos online that will show you how to install the card.

Thanks, going to bed now, but will check this Friday!

The card I tried did not want to seat, even with that thumb switch open...the card was also long enough that it was being blocked by the front face USB connector...

I'll for sure read up on this in the AM...thanks!
