if it fits is first, does it/ 12 makers and vast forms of cards , even 1,2,3, fan cards that are some too long.

the mobo nor x16 will not fail here.

what matters is POWER, next.

you need an GPU AUX power cable does your PC have this, HP does not spec  there PSU nor cables inside.(not all)

we must look  to  find missing cables and react to that.

power, the 1660S is 125watts, total so PSU need that cable to it and say PSU over 150+125=275watt (300 or more)

the PC only draws the current it needs, the PSU needs only match that, or more.

Ive no idea how to upgrade any PSU in any HP until my eyes look at what is there first for sure the GPU AUX cable missing

and 180w lame PSU installed.

ok parts surfer shows

Power Supply - IPS,ATX,Picolit,500W,EStarBronze,5Vsb/4A

so power is good only fit and missing cable are key points. here.

NO warranty answers by me.

Thanks for your reply, the current CG is 2 * 6 pins and I have 2 extra pins on cable. Is there another subtlety or can I safely think that only size matters ?

Can you take a look on this image : https://ibb.co/Wybt6CQ

P.S can't upload image
