also I might get this instead because I play on a single 720p TV and the 660 Ti seems to be overkill.

Hi, I want to buy HP Slimlines s5-1358 Desktop model, but I want to insert a Graphic Display Card "Sapphire 7750 Low Profile Graphic Card" into it,  I don't know whether there is any empty slot to insert this card or not? and also I want to know in case when there is actually empty slot,  will this slot be disabled or enabled by HP Manufacture?  Hope you can help me solve this issue.

Hi lingawc,

Review the specifications HP S5-1358.  The motherboard does contain a slot for a PCI-E video card which needs to be a low profile video card that is rated for a 270 watt power supply.  Look at the picture of the motherboard  and you will see that there is a long black slot that is used for a video card.

Check the Sapphire AMD 7750 video card power supply requirements at the Sapphire web site.  I am fairly certain that most AMD video cards require a minimum of a 400 watt power per the video card manufacturer.

Look here at HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the newer Slimline models. These cards were manufactured specially for HP Slimline PCs.

These HP 'how-to" articles should be helpful.

mac9955,

Usually, the GPU is part of the graphics card which goes in the motherboard slot with the most connections.  Occasionally, it goes directly on the motherboard instead; those are generally not replaceable.

Make sure you do not try to install a video card longer than the chassis will allow to fit - the chassis of my desktop limits the length of the cards to about 8 inches.

hi dave . u are a really good explaining about selection of video cards. i have a small doiubt regarding my pc.
i have a hp pavilion m9800me desktop pc which i got in 2009. i am really bored of the onboard graphics card ( the amd hd4650) . i want to upgrade only the graphics card. i want to know whether this is possible. so that i can try out upcoming games at  better resolution. another hp specialist replied to the query i asked earlier regarding this that GeForce 560Ti / 660Ti or AMD Radeon HD6850 / HD6870 / HD6950 / HD6970 Graphics Cards would be fine. what do u say
