You're very welcome.

The i5-10500 is also PCIe gen 3.0.

Personally, I would go with the newer Samsung 980.  It's cheaper.

But the 970 has a slightly faster sequential write speed.

The 980's specs...

Sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500/3,000 MB/s

The 970's specs...

Sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500MB s and 3,300MB/s

The 980 may also run a bit cooler.

Then there is this drive too, which also appears to be a good choice.

Hi:

According to page 6 of the quickspecs at the link below, your PC supports NVMe SSD's.

HP 290 G4 Microtower PC

The SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2 2280 250GB PCI-EXPRESS GEN 4.0 X4, will work, but not at its fullest speed.

Your PC's NVMe slot is only PCIe generation 3.0.

Intel® Core™ i7-10700 Processor (16M Cache, up to 4.80 GHz)

You may want to save a few dollars and go with the Samsung 980.

You may also want to opt for the 500 GB size because it is not much more expensive than the 250 GB size ($15 USD more).
