Hello,
First, I want to apologize to anyone out there who think my question is there some where and that I just didn't bother to look. Well the truth is I have been looking and searching for quite a while and i just needs advise because what i read in forums vs what the manual has in it can send you on a loop, at least to me.
As per the Subject I have a HP 6300 MT, it had one stick of RAM; 4gb 2Rx8 PC3-12800U. This PC MOBO has 4 RAM slots, 2 black one and 2 white ones. The one RAM stick was placed on the one labeled DIMM1 (Black). The manual contradicts what I have stating I should have 3 whites one and 1 Black.
I wanted to upgrade the RAM so i went to the manual for specs on the upgrade. The manuals stated MAX RAM to be 32gb DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600 MHz). I had two 8gb stick (2x8gb = 16gb) with same specks and I installed them. When I turn on the PC i geet 5 beeps and the fan goes into over drive. I this time I dont even attemp to let the PC boot, I shut the PC off preventing some possible damage. Just to be safe, I used the rams individually to make sure they worked and they did just fine. As long as I have one 8gb stick the PC will boot just fine.
I have updated every possible driver there is; currently on BIOS 3.08. My questions if the document says the MAX 32gb is on and I try to install 16gb (2X8gb) then why the 5 beeps? Is it that only one slot channel (perhaps DIMM1 is the only on that can accept all 32gb, meaning one stick with 16gb or 32gb?

Thank you for the help

Hello,
I went and place one 8gb ram stick on each black slot, leaving out the 4gb stock; that should be 16gb total.
As soon as I power ON the PC, the 5 beeps comes on. After the beeps nothing happens, no lights no boot. Then about a minute or so, the rear fan comes on but it is LOUD!

I tried to use DIMM 1and 2 and got the same results. I then installed them in DIMM 3 and 4. Upon powering on the PC I got one beep. Then PC went to a black screen where it showed me error 164- Memory size error. However, although extremely slow, the PC booted and I was able to log into windows. I check the CPUID app and its shows I have only 8gb not 16gb. Not sure why...

Okay so as I mentioned before I used DIMM 3 (black) and 4 (white) and installed 8gb stick on each of those slots then only 8gb shows not 16gb. Then I just Installed just one 8gb on the DIMM 4 (white slot). After powering the PC and checking the CPUID app it shows only 4gb?
btw,
the red is the one i trying to use; the green was the original

Hi:
I'm thinking the G.Skill memory you bought is 2 x 4 GB, not 2 x 8 GB.
I entered the part number in your picture, and this shows up.
If you look at the label second line in small print under the main part number it shows 2 x 4 GB.
I honestly think you should get the 8 GB crucial part number recommended for your PC.
They guarantee compatibility.

You can get the 16 GB kit almost $30 cheaper on NewEgg.com.
I have read that the PC3-12800 memory is only running at 1333 MHz on the 6300 Pro and the 8300 Elite.
The memory is supposed to run at 1600 MHz.
Is that true?
If so, I read someplace that if you install the 1866 MHz kit, it will run at 1600 MHz for some reason.
So, you may want to spend a few bucks more and get two of those if the PC3-12800 memory is only running at 1333 MHz.
It will indicate that in the BIOS' system information window, I believe.

Hmmm...I see the small print but then why when I install just one of the GSkill rams it shows 8gb? It 4gb when I placed the GSkill in DIMM4 (white) slot... I will review this more tomorrow and report findings later.
Thanks
