HP Desktop PC M01-F1000a (2W898AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hewlett-Packard - USB - 12/12/2014 12:00:00 AM - 35.0.56.52825-install error 0x80070103 is what I keep getting every time I try to update this package. The only thing that always changes is the install error number. I have tried updating this more than 5 times. I also find the time and date of this odd and wonder if others are experiencing the same problem on their HP products. This is the only update problem that I have had since getting this computer as it is only about 5 months old.

Hi @Brittastic30,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Thank you for contacting HP Support and for providing detailed information regarding the issue with your HP Desktop PC M01-F1000a (Product ID: 2W898AV). We understand you’re encountering an error when attempting to install the USB driver update labelled: "Hewlett-Packard - USB - 12/12/2014 12:00:00 AM - 35.0.56.52825", with a recurring Install Error Code 0x80070103.

The error code 0x80070103 typically indicates that Windows Update is attempting to install a driver that is either already installed or is not compatible with the current hardware. This can sometimes occur when Windows Update misidentifies hardware components or offers outdated drivers.

1. Update Drivers Manually via HP Support Assistant:

  • Open HP Support Assistant (pre-installed on your system).
  • Go to My Devices > Updates and allow the tool to scan for and install HP-verified driver updates.
  • If no update appears for USB drivers, your system already has the correct version.

2
. Optional Manual Driver Check:
If you wish to double-check the USB drivers:

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.
