HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0132no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought this but would like to add a second disk to it. Can anyone recommend a disk for this model? I don't care much if it is a HDD or SSD, it's just for storage. At least 1 TB in size though.

I haven't received it yet, but realize I'm going to need one.

Thankful for any help,

Mikey

@MikeyMike70,

You might have a problem. There is a designated hard drive power socket on the motherboard (2x2 pin socket).

The DVD drive has its own power cable to the motherboard.  Aside from that, you will have to furnish the SATA data cable from the drive to the motherboard. Follow the DVD data cable back to the motherboard, and you will see a data header. There are 3 (white, light blue and blue).

About that SATA power cable, you should call this vendor to verify the cable, L68306-001    or L68308-001   as the correct power cable.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

Thanks for your reply. I realize that I'm not very good at this at all. One thing I realized thoough when looking at the motherboard link it doesn't seem to be exactly the same, but I guess the problem might be.

I guess I just want to make sure if you're telling me that add another hdd or ssd might be a bad idea 🙂
