HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-4000i (6V9A5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello HP Community,

I have an HP ENVY Desktop TE01-4147c (Product: 7Y851AA) with a factory-installed NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GPU. My system has a 320W power supply, and HP does not provide a compatible 550W or higher PSU for this model.

**My problem:**
- The PC is stable for hours/days using 3–4 monitors (mainly for trading platforms, YouTube, and HD video) *only* when running the Windows default/basic graphics driver (no official NVIDIA driver).
- However, after installing the official NVIDIA GeForce drivers (latest or older), I immediately start getting blue screens (BSOD), crashes, and random reboots—especially during moderate to high GPU load.
- I have already tried a fresh Windows 11 installation, latest BIOS, and chipset drivers. Nothing solves the issue if the official NVIDIA driver is installed.
- The RTX 3060 Ti normally requires a 550W or higher PSU, but HP’s case design makes PSU upgrades almost impossible.
- I am not overclocking, and all fan/monitor utilities are OFF.

**My questions:**
1. Is it possible to achieve stability with this GPU/PSU combination if I must use the NVIDIA driver for trading and video tasks?
2. Why is the system stable using the default Microsoft driver, but crashes with the official NVIDIA driver?
3. Are there HP-recommended BIOS tweaks or GPU settings (power limit, fan curves, feature disables) that can help?
4. If this configuration cannot be stabilized, what does HP recommend—replace the GPU with a lower-power model, or any other official solution?

Screenshots, event logs, and all details are available if needed.

Thank you for your help.

@James_Parsons99,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

According to the specs, your HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-4000i (6V9A5AV) is fitted with a 310-watt power supply, which is indeed substantially underpowering your system.

My recommendation is to upgrade your power supply with a 500-watt unit, with p/n: 901759-013 / L89233-001 / L77487-001, such as this quality eBay purchase option: https://www.ebay.com/itm/195843274057?_skw=l05757-800&itmmeta=01JWYRY0BFHGBPR8FP5TR7411H&hash=item2d....

This solution will eliminate your issue.

Kind Regards,
