HP does not appear to have much documentation on this model online yet

for memory, any major memory seller will have online information on how to select the correct memory

as for HD removal/addition, open the case up, can you see if the drive has a screw mounting/locking the drive in?

some systems require almost a full teardown (removing both side covers) to get at the drive mounting screws

others just have a tab holding in the drive. you will have to look and see which method your system has

There is no manual for HP Envy 795-0050.    Why the Hewlett Packard Computer does not supply customers with Computer Manuals for there Model of Computer is beyond me..   They say they help with all their programs etc. which is good, BUT we need MANULS for our computers many times!!!!!

installing a second hard drive is not rocket science, it's one of the most basic tasks a do-it-your-selfer can perform

a manual is not really nessary unless you have a weirdware case that is not standard, and this HP model is not weirdware

as for documentation, as i said it's a new model, in time i suspect hp will post more information on this series

@DoRight1945,

Unless you custom ordered your unit with added hard drives, your not going to be happy.

Adding an additonal hard drive with this model requires:

1) Special power cable only available from Europe, cost is 54 EURO.  Wait time is 4-6 weeks.

2) Hard drive mounting is accomplished with HP isolation "blue" screws.  If you can get the cable.

You can read through this explanation.   It is with the kind assistance of others on the forum who photographed it.

Also this might help prevent you from breaking the front power switch.  If you improperly remove the front cover you will break the power switch, as noted by this VERY unhappy owner.

I just found a video on youtube.[edit]  It shows you how the PC opens up and swings out. Real easy once you see how. They already had 2 extra drive power and SATA cables inside ready to install. The only thing missing was mounting screw/bracket things. I found no record of what to purchase so I set the extra drive inside loose for now.

@DonSat,

You are the first person to report that you found extra hard drive cabling (power cable) inside the unit.

That is a USD $54 value. :OpenSmile::Wink:
