Envy Cured All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

While working, my mouse suddenly stopped responding. The computer did not freeze and I was able to navigate using the keyboard, but the mouse simply wouldn't move. It is the wireless HP mouse that came with the computer when i bought it a few months ago.

I put new batteries in the mouse

I tried the function keys (Fn + F3, Fn + F5, etc)
I checked for driver updates (there were none) and no option to Roll Back

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver

I restarted the computer

When the computer booted back up, there was no pointer and no mouse function. I repeated a check for driver updates, and repeated the uninstall/reinstall process. No change.

I found an old USB wired mouse and plugged that in -  suddenly I have a pointer again. This is fine, for now, but I would like to resolve the problem and be able to use my wireless mouse again. Any advice?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Please help us with the correct product number.

Meanwhile, let's do a scan:

Type cmd in the Start search box. In the result, which appears, right click on cmd and select Run As Administrator.

In the command prompt window which opens, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.

Let's do these updates too:

Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
