HP Pavilion 500-141ea
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

I have a HP Pavilion 500-141ea Desktop PC (https://support.hp.com/sk-en/document/c03936079)

I want to upgrade the motherboard, can you recommend me which motherboard would fit? or some tips what I should look for?

Thanks !

@Rares-Gabriel,

My advise is not to attempt this!   Reasons:

1) https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Knowledge-Base/Moving-HP-Motherboard-to-a-new-gaming-case/ta-p/...

2) WIN 8 thru 10 product key is embedded in the BIOS NRAM of the original motherboard.

3) HP power switch is a non-stand wiring.

4) The HP 500 case is marginal in space.

WB2001 is correct however, I found that if you go into settings, and click on update and security, click on os build info it should give you the product key for windows. Mine does.

Wow,.. on Windows Activation it doesn't show the product key but is saying "Windows is activated using your organisation's activation service"  so please let me clear this, because I'm not english.. everytime I install/reinstall windows 8 or 10 it will be activated automatic ?

Since you under a organization's service it should be done automatically.

@KingOP,

The embedded Product Key is also tied to the hard drive., if it exists.   Installing the hard drive with a different motherboard will create a "non genuine windows" error. That is why the original HD still can not be used with a different motherboard.
