Oh, and I managed to upgrade mine to 16GB RAM within 10 mins.  The 8GB RAM I bought from Memory Cow as they match to your specific PC and I'm pleased to say it was the exact same module and all is working great.  A fab investment at just £39.

Hi Karl, thank you so much for that, that’s really good to know 🙂 I thought I wanted glossy but then realised matte would be much better for me so it’s good to know this is matte 🙂 That’s great re memory too!

Me again! Apologies. I was literally just about to order when I spotted that the HD in this model was only 5400 RPM instead of 7200. Do you notice this makes much of a difference when trying to do something like open a number of images in Photoshop at once (something I do quite often)? Thanks so much for your help with this.

Hiya.  No issues yet and it certainly performs so much faster than my last affair.  I know that's a combination of new tech and having a clean install etc, but it does feel fast and I've not had to 'tut' yet  😕

I guess you could always upgrade the hard drive if necessary?  I noted that was even easier than the RAM when I popped the back off.

Thanks Karl! Thinking about it I was thinking about buying a new external HD anyway as a backup, I might invest in an SSD and use that as my 'working' drive then I could almost just use the internal HD for backup if that makes any sense. I'm being torn between this one and a Dell (probably shouldn't say that here!) but the video card in the Dell is probably more than I need, it has an older processor and ultimately the HP having less RAM and a slower HD is something I can fix in the future if needs be... The Dell is only 24" and having seen a 27" on a different model in the shop I think I might find myself disappointed with a 24 now.

I take too long to make decisions!

I don't blame you for taking your time, but make sure you balance the time taken for that informed decision with the fact a newer and better model is a month or so around the corner, and another after that....  You could go on forever 🙂

The SSD strategy sounds good if you can upgrade it to a sufficiently high spec.

I made my decision largely on the fact I've enjoyed so many hassle free years with my HP all in ones now, along with the most wonderful 27 inches and a great design.  I've now complemented my buy with the following...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LQQHBNU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TNHXKHB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00RK0O22U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...so a drop of colour matching and now fully functional. Now time to take a full hard drive image after 4 days of configuration and - inevitably - tweaking the registry to overcome issues with Chrome fighting against Microsoft etc.

Good luck and enjoy 🙂
