Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My desktop has frequent problems with overheating.   Is it possible to add additional fans?

I've already done:

1 - Updated bios as suggested in another thread

2 -  Cleaned out all dust inside and out

3 -  It's in a nice cool room

It idles at 31 celsius, but then overheats and shuts down when gaming.  I'm running a temp monitor so I know it's overheating.

Your attitude is very hostile.

The base unit is shown here.  It should operate at safe temps.

Factory PSU is proprietary and offers no extra leads for additional fan.  The inline 7 pin (white) connector does support limited fan power, but that is connected to the motherboard, and has no power taps.  A power tap is possible from the SATA power lead, but still your cutting holes in the case to accept 80 or 92mm fans.

@Nanp1017,

A hardware stress or malfunction is likely the issue.  It is impossible to assist you without knowing the exact model number and any changes in hardware have been made.  You should also state the name of the the game(s).  Limit of 2.

My question is if additional fans can be added.  I don't think you need to know anything else to answer that question.  The information on HPs website isn't that great.

Yes, it is because the  first answer given did not address the question asked.  This unit does have frequent problems overheating by doing a simple google search you will see many people having this problem with this unit.  Had I done proper research before buying, I would not have bought this unit.

Thank you for answering the original question regarding adding extra fans.

Have a great day!
