HP Pavilion h8z-1150 Motherboard Headers (front panel)

I currently upgraded my HP Pavilion h8z-1150 by putting it in a new case. However, I was unable to match up the power button headers, LED headers, etc since HP uses a non-standard arrangement. Could someone please provide a diagram of the header (ie, what each pin goes to).

Thanks

Hi,

If the connectors were not marked or the motherboard doesn't have etchings for the pin outs then review the below image which is used on several different  HP motherboards.  It's fairly standard for a 10 pin layout.  Some of the non-HP motherboards use a 20 pin connector.

The power switch and reset switch are not polarity sensitive.  The LED indicators are polarity sensitive.

Thank you!

I just want to make sure, there is no chance of frying any components by messing up the plugs, correct?

Hi,

If you are a bit uncertain about the situation, then just try one connector at a time.  I have not heard of anyone "frying" anything if a connector gets reversed.
