HP Compaq Pro6200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an old Pentium based HP Pro6200 and want to breath some new life into it with a CPU upgrade, i notice from later specifications that there were models produced with the i7 core processor, is this a simple CPU swap or does the motherboard/ RAM/Heat sink and fan need upgrading as well

Hi:

You can do a direct swap for the i7-2600.

No additional hardware or settings are required.

Here is the link to the quickspecs for your PC.

The supported processors can be found on pages 6 and 7.
