Got this HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite all in one desktop from 2011 and it has integrated Intel HD graphics. I notice it has an MXM graphics card slot on the system board for an optional MXM graphics card. I would like to ignore the Intel HD graphics and use an MXM graphics card instead. I have already found a compatible graphics card for this machine, I just don't have the proper heatsink aka thermal module for it. I have looked EVERYWHERE far and wide for the proper thermal module I need but no luck. They supposedly sell them on these third party IT websites but they have no photos of it and it looks sketchy.
Would anyone be able to help me or at the very least be able to point me in the right direction? Is there alternative MXM cooling options I can use?

Welcome to our HP community forum!
I also looked for an MXM heat sink for you and couldn't locate one either. Speaking of an MXM card, your options appear to be pretty limited. And no matter what MXM card you may (or may not) get to work, its graphics performance will be quite, well, underwhelming, as these UserBenchmark HP System TouchSmart 9300 Elite All-in-One PC Users show:

Look, please don't misunderstand me: I am all for upgrading legacy/vintage HP computers -I have published quite a few in this Community (most recently an HP Z400 Workstation), but this AIO upgrade project efforts/expenditures -in my opinion, would be better spend on a different PC, one that can actually zip along somewhat in terms of being a reasonable office, gaming or workstation computer.
Just my cent's opinion.

You’d be forgiven to think that this machine is simply “too old” for performing today’s tasks and you’d be half right. It is not old enough to be considered vintage, though it is from the Windows 7 era. You say what most people would tell me which is to “buy a new one” which is out the question for me since the tasks I use on this unit is not very demanding to justify replacing this great computer. I upgraded the processor to the maximum supported Intel Core i7-2600 quad core 3.4 GHz, the memory to the maximum supported 16 GB, and the hard drive to an 512 GB HP SSD. Installed Windows 11 on it and now this HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite boots up in only 20 seconds, just about equal to today’s computer boot speeds. It performs tasks super fast and it is quite zippy. Pretty decent for an all in one business desktop from 2011. If there is one thing I’ve learned while working on these older machines is that relying on numbers generated on some third party isn’t a good metric to go off of. You have to actually use the system in question to form a true answer. I guess I will stick with the integrated Intel HD graphics and be on my way.
That’s my two cents,
Alexander
