HP Z230 PSU upgrade

so, i have looked up some tutorials on how to upgrade my PSU in my Z230 SFF desktop. However, on my mobo i only find a 4pin connector labeled CPU and a 8PIN connector wich is labeled PCIe. I cant find a 18 or 24 pin connector. I have tried to connect a power supply externaly to the GPU and also to those ports, The external PSU wont power on. The external PSU is comfirmed to work, it's a standard ATX psu. Any way to upgrade the psu? i need at least 500w and i'm fine buying some proprietary PSU from HP. It's for a server so i don't care if it's an ugly solution.

The best power supply upgrade solution would be to use an ATX power supply adapter cable specifically listed as HP Z230 compatible, such as this Amazon-US (but widely available online elsewhere) purchase example:

What this power adapter cable will do is replacing your stock power supply with an industry standard 24-pin ATX power supply: connect the adapter's 24-pin to your ATX power supply, connect the other two power supply connectors to your motherboard, split the ATX power supply's 4+4-pin CPU power connector cable and use one of the 4-pin connectors to plug in your motherboard's 4-pin CPU power port.

Because an SFF case is not large enough to hold a regular ATX power supply, you'll have to use this power supply outside your PC case.
