z800

Hi I have just picked up a Z800  and need to upgrade the power supply,

was going to get the 1110W power supply part no#508149-001 but have found a cheaper one on ebay for the Z820 1125W part no# 623196-001.

my question is will the Z820 unit fit and work in the Z800

no, the power supplies are different, while the same form factor, the power connections are different between the two systems with the z820 having a 3rd power connector as opposed to the z800's two connectors,..... also the pins in each power connector carry different voltages between each supply

 

last a workstation question should be posted in the workstation forum, rather than a generic hp hardware forum for all systems
