Good day, good folks!
My workstation is an HP Z840. I rarely got 5 beeps with a red light, however reinstalling the memory fixed the problem. Unfortunately, it is not working this time. I tried every possible combination of memory settings in my two-processor systems. Nothing seemed to work.
Memory used: ECC M386A4G40DM0-CPB (Samsung)
Here the combination I checked:
# CPU 0 : 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 32GB); # CPU 1: NO = Results: Working
# CPU 0 : 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 16GB); # CPU 1: NO= Results: Working
# CPU 0 : 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 32GB); # CPU 1: 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 32GB) =Results: Not Working
# CPU 0 : NO; # CPU 1: 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 32GB)=Results: Not Working
# CPU 0 : NO; # CPU 1: 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 16GB)=Results: Not Working
# CPU 0 : : 1, 3, 6, 8 (All 32GB); # CPU 1: 6, 8 (All 32GB)= Results: Not Working
Can I now only use memory in one CPU and continue to run, or will it crash? I will provide additional details if required, and any recommendations are highly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I just went through this on two motherboards x8dt6 and x8dtl. One was a replacement for this ruined one but had problems with the ram. All matched HP ram but old.
Suggestion: Pull all rams sticks and use air hose to blow out all sockets (dont touch ram with bare fingers as oil can rub off)
Use a big pink rubber eraser to shine all the gold contact where they look like new.
Disconnect boot drive so you can quickly and easily reboot a USB with MemCheck86
Test each ram (ECC test) stick one at a time and mark as defective if it does not pass.
If you do not have enough good ram then fill only the brown or black colored sockets. Probably the ones closes to CPU but you may have to check manual.

Hello BeemerBiker,
Thank you for your suggestion. I will try what you have suggested. However, if you see my queries, I set all the memory in one CPU and it is working. Does it mean only one CPU is active, I am a bit confused as I did not find anything that show both CPU is active or inactive.
Thanks
