I bought a new HP Desktop M01-1040ur. For some strange reason, the HP Support Assistant app identifies my computer as an HP M01-F1000a (2W898AV). When I click "Let HP detect your product" on https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/desktops, HP Web Product Detection detects it the same way. I have tried running HP Web Product Detection many times but nothing changes. At the same time, the Serial Number and Product Number are shown correctly by the HP Support Assistant and HP Web Product Detection application. Because of this error, I am unable to download the drivers. Why is my computer detected incorrectly? What can I do so that my computer is detected correctly?

I believe you are missing an 'F' from the model number you posted.
I cannot find any PC listed as a M01-1040ur
I found this one however...
HP Desktop M01-F1040ur PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
The driver page defaults to the base model M01-F1000a. The 'a' stands for AMD.
So, the drivers and software from that model would work on yours.
