Example: Pavilion 690-0018

I currently have a Hp Pavilion 690-0018 Gaming   Desktop and I wanted to upgrade my graphics card to a Nivida GeForce Gtx 1660 Super and also add 16gb of ram I’m just wondering would that upgrade be possible?

@BlazingStone,

I am linking a spreadsheet explaining option PSU and GPU combinations.  Be advised the PSU in these units are an  HP proprietary design, so you are limited to their product . There are differences,  like your unit,  but other 690's have a 180W PSU and the GTX 1050 (75W) card.  The GTX 1660 Super  (125W) does require an 8 pin PCIE power plug.   The 400W PSU might be adequate based on the chart, as the 690-0020 has your CPU and a stronger GPU with the 400W. The choice is yours, but if you can get the 500W, go for it.

NOW my questions:   PLEASE answer so I can add your unit to the spreadsheet.

1) what is the model number of your 310W PSU. There are 3 variations.

2) Does it have a 6 or 6+2 PCIE power plug.   Rumor is the L64961-800 has the plug.

3) Some GTX 1050 cards do have a 6 pin PCIE power socket, does your card have it.

I have the exact same PC. Were you able to upgrade the graphics card? If so what did you use?
