Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can any hard drive replace mine that failed, or does the firmware have to be the same?  The SATA drive that failed has firmware:HP64. I have no recovery media.

Hi:

 

You can replace the 3/5" drive that failed with any 3.5" drive of your choosing, not to exceed 2 TB.

 

You can reinstall W10 for free on the new drive by making bootable W10 installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

When you get to the part of the installation where you are asked to enter a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and activate once you are connected to the internet.
