Having a problem with my heat sink fan. It occasionally speeds up  or when I click on something. This has been going on for about 6 months.

Per the community advisement. I took the fan out and thoroughly cleaned the heat sink and put the fan back in. The heat sink did not need much cleaning and the fan looks good.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Bob

Hello. I upgraded the BIOS as suggested. On the Reboot. I had an error code 90B. (Heat sink fan).

I still have the problem of random speed up on the Heat Sink fan.

Do not see that error anymore every time I boot up but still have the problem

Thank you for the response. Let us run a test on the hardware components of the PC

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result on your next post.

Also, perform steps 1, 2 and 3 mentioned in this document.

For more info on 90B error, refer to this document.

Let me know how this goes.
