I was planning to buy a pre built HP pavilion desktop but when I saw the PSU rating it was great deal breaker.
Ryzen 7, GTX 1660, 1TB HDD, 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM complete package with a 310w PSU? Won't it bottleneck alot? And it greatly minimised the future upgrading opportunities.

While the prospect of upgrading a desktop computer may sound promising, the majority of prebuilt units are made to function the way they are marketed and built. Upgrades may possibly be made, but are usually minor in scope.
That way the PC's will function properly. BIOS upgrades are of the same nature and not meant to give the unit future hardware changes. CPU, RAM, and video (graphics card) upgrades are limited in the scope and range of future hardware.
