HP Desktop - 190-0406a
Microsoft Windows 11

I would like to upgrade the hard drive to a SDD in my HP Desktop 190-0406a PC. How can i add the new drive to the pc so I can clone it? I've had a look at the motherboard and there seems to be limited means to do so.

I think the easiest thing to do if you plan on removing the existing 3.5" drive and replacing it with a 2.5" SSD and you want to clone the hard drive's contents to the SSD would be to purchase a SATA to USB drive cable.

Something like this:

EZONEDEAL USB 3.0 to SATA 22 Pin 15+7 Pin 2.5 Inch Hard Disk Driver SSD Adapter Data Power Cable : A...

You plug the SSD into one end of the cable and the other end into your PC's USB port and clone the drive.

You are also going to need a 3.5" to 2.5" drive adapter to fit the smaller 2.5" SSD where the 3.5" drive is now.
