Please could anyone advise me how to wipe the hard drive on an HP Pavilion Desktop that's only 4 weeks old, as I need to send it back next week due to the techs not being able to fix it remotely?
I don't want to just delete everything as I have a lot of sensitive information on it, so any advise you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if you could tell me in plain English, as not completely tech savvy like you guys are 🙂

Hello
If it has to go back to repair, it is not cleaning it!
The pc is likely to be reinstalled, in this case, you just need to save personal files on an external hard drive for example, this is what is advised to do normally in case of return!

You need to copy any information you need onto an external disk that you keep. Tech support will not backup your data and there is a good chance that the drive will be formatted when serviced. Check warranty terms, HP is not responsible or liable for your data. If the machine is so badly messed up you cannot get the data off of it before shipping then you need to find someone Local to do it for you.
