I have a hp z2 g4 and I saw that hp only made the highest wattage to be 650w for that Workstation. If I take another psu from another  hp Z Workstation of any kind with 700 w ad it has all cords needed, will it work and not short circuit

@Letsgoheman,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

According to QuickSpecs, the HP Z2 SFF G4 Workstation says that there are only a 250-watt and a 310-watt power supply, whereas the HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation specs mentions a 750-watt and a 1000-watt power supply.  However, this confuses me, because the HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation was originally configured only with a 250-watt, 500-watt, or 650-watt power supplies, not a 750-watt or a 1000-watt power supply...

Please type in System Information in your lower Windows search bar, click on System Information, and look to the right of "System Model", "System SKU", and "BaseBoard Product", and provide that information.

Perhaps you looked at my HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation upgrade project?

Kind Regards,
