I would like to upgrade the power supply for my HP 280 G2 MT as I have a graphics card (gtx 750 ti) which Is 75 watts and 180w is not enough for it.  which power supply is compatible with my system? I am looking for a 300 watt to 450 watt range with the psu.

Hello @Ted183

There you will find compatible spare parts, where you can provide information and check availability with the reseller.

Best regards

@Ted183,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

The only HP proprietary power supply upgrade available for your HP 280 G2 MT is a 300-watt power supply with p/n: 759764-001 or 759766-001.

However, because your motherboard is 24-pin ATX power enabled, you can install a standard ATX power supply (such as Corsair, EVGA, etc.) provided:

  • The power supply physically fits the case (check dimensions (LxWxH)

  • The rear mounting holes line up (some HP chassis may need minor tweaking)

  • Cable lengths are long enough, especially the 4-pin CPU connector -usually you'll have to split the ATX 8-pin (4+4-pin) CPU power cable

Recommended ATX Power Supply Options:

  • Corsair CX550 / CX650 (140mm depth) – very solid, should fit your case.

Kind Regards,
